Travel to Goodwood festival of speed

Travel to the Goodwood festival of speed in style. The celebration of motorsport and car culture is set to be a fantastic event this year on Thursday 13th July to Sunday 16th July 2023. This three day event offers up close and personal views of the most luxury cars as they tackle the famous Hillclimb track.

Founded in 1993 by Lord March, the Goodwood festival of speed was organised to bring back motor racing to the Goodwood circuit. A small number of historic vehicles lined up to take place at the first ever event on June 20th. The day had been a huge success, bringing in crowds of 25k despite the 24 hours of le mans that year.

A year later and Goodwood turned into a two day event, by 1996 it had evolved into the three day event it is today. The moving motor show was added many years later.

The Hillclimb is by far one of the most famous events at the show. Visitors gain close access to a track which climbs 92.7m metres high with an average gradient of 4.9%. A record time was set by Romain Dumas in an electric VW I.D r at 39.9 seconds.
